IGNEA Bio

IGNEA was started in Kiev, Ukraine, back in 2011 under name Parallax. Intentionally, it was the first Ukrainian band to play oriental metal. The band, however, didn't limit itself to strict boundaries of oriental metal, and included elements from symphonic, industrial, modern, progressive and other modern subgenres of metal. The activity of the band started though in 2013 when the band entered Morton Studio, well-known rock and metal studio in Ukraine, to record its debut EP, titled Sputnik.

In 2014, the band prepared a follow-up single titled Petrichor, featuring bouzoukitara playing and a guitar solo from Yossi Sassi, at that moment the guitarist of oriental metal fathers band, Orphaned Land.

In 2015, the band finally changed its name to IGNEA and released a new work called Alga, named after a war call of Crimean Tatar people. This song is contributed to Crimeans who are defending their land.

Alga is the first ever original song from a Ukrainian band, recorded with a full symphonic orchestra. The video was shot unintentionally and on low budget as the band wanted to use orchestra sessions footage in something bigger, than video diary. Over the year, the video gathered over million views on YouTube.

Late 2016, IGNEA opened the show of Orphaned Land, fathers of oriental metal, in Kiev, Ukraine.

February 16th, 2017, the band releases its first full-length album called The Sign of Faith, consisting of 10 songs. The album has heavier sound, with lots of growls and authentic middle-eastern melodies, common for oriental metal genre. However, the music keeps melodic fundamentals and OST feeling.

IGNEA also released an anti-terrorism video for Şeytanu Akbar from the new album. Despite provocative title of the song, the band’s intention is to carry the idea of peace. According to the band’s words: “What we want to say is that there is no reasonable cause to kill other people, be it regime, faith or moral principles. We mainly speak about islamic terrorism in this song, as one of the social plagues of 21st century, taking lots of innocent lives. However, this applies to every human on Earth, regardless of their religion.”

Over 2017, IGNEA has been promoting the new album through solo shows and festivals in Ukraine within ‘The Tour of Faith’. The band has released 4 live videos in summer.  In December, IGNEA has been nominated for The Best Ukrainian Metal Act awards and has entered the top 3 best metal bands in the country. January 2018, IGNEA has released an official live experience video for Şeytanu Akbar recorded at the BUMA awards and has signed a management & booking deal with The Flaming Arts Agency.

In May 2018, IGNEA has toured in Germany, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands, together with Illdisposed, Shade Empire, and Soulline, as well as performed in Slovakia, Czech Republic, and at the RockMetalCampFest in France. In summer 2018 IGNEA has performed at Kilkim Žaibu (LT) and Faine Misto (UA) festivals.

September 2018, IGNEA released a new single “Queen Dies” with a respective art video directed by Maria Goruliova.

In October 2018, the band toured 9 European countries within the Female Metal Voices Tour 2018 headlined by Butcher Babies and Kobra and the Lotus. Currently, IGNEA is working on the second full-length album.

Over just a couple of active years and just one full-length album, IGNEA has managed to grow quite a big fanbase:
     20,000+ followers on Facebook
33,000+ subscribers and nearly 4 million views on YouTube
     20,000+ monthly listeners on Spotify

Biography

The band was created in October 2013, in Thessaloniki, having 4 members. The first name of the band was “Fox Terrier” and within the first year of its creation, the band started performing live, playing cover songs in different music stages of Thessaloniki. Within 2014, the band changed its form as the bass player and drummer decided to leave the band. After their departure, the band’s love for music and our will and goals were the key factors that shaped the band’s course and song selection and creation, as well as the replacement of the drummer. Also, on taking the decision that the lead singer would also be the new bass player. Eventually, the band shaped its own character, recording for the very first its own material, which have a “Space Psychedelic Stoner Heavy Rock” character. There upon, the band started rebranding and changed its name to “GrandeFox”.  Furthermore, in 2015, the band had its first professional photo shoot and went on to record its first professional recording,in order to create its first complete album entitled ‘‘Space Nest’’ (LP)

The band started performing live in the summer of 2015 in the city of Trikala, opening for “Emerald Sun”.At that time, the drummer was replaced by George Baltas (session member). In June, the band had two more live shows in Thessaloniki, performing at Eightball Live Club Stage" alongside Project Theory", "Blank Page", and "Summer of Freud" and at Silver Dollar Live Stage" alongside “Project Theory". In April 2016, a new session member was added to the band, Paris Nikolaou, as a bass player, releasing the lead singer from this role.

In March of 2016, the band took part in the gbob competition and awarded for performance. On June 8th and 27th of the same year, the band started performing live at the Rover bar, alongside Shotgunz, and at the Wonderwall Bar, musically representing an event held for a short movie. The band also participated at the Rock Festival Limassol in Cyprus on July 8th and 10th, along with famous bands like Nightstalker. Additionally, some tracks of the album were featured in an experimental audiovisual performance film called Feverish Dreams, starring the lead singer. The film was the work of the band’s guitarist.
Ιn November of 2016 they released first album, entitled “Space Nest”. The album featured 8 (psychotropic-burned beard- apopsychosis-strange situation-route 66-oriental war- mind disorder-new beginning) songs and its full duration is 57 minutes. They created also two video clips, for the songs “Psychotropic” and “Route 66”.

The band launched its first album live on December 15th (2016), at the Eightball live stage(special guests Fallen Lives & The Morphine Social Club).
In April of 2018 the band released the second project which is called "Kulning" (EP). The new project features 3 songs that where made with two new very special musicians. Angelina Papadopoulou on female vocals alongside with the lead voice of the band Nick and also at the second track of the EP album "sealed curse" we have cooperated with Stephan Keeman at the role of the cellist. The outcome is a magic trilogy, a very spiritual attitude that drags down anyone that listens.

As a new member, Vasilis Theodosiades, joined the band, as a supporting guitar player.
At the present time, the band is in production of their second full album entitled
“Empty Nest” (LP) The album is estimated to be released at 2019, featuring 11 songs.Before ‘‘Empty Nest’’ releasing, the band will also release a single ‘‘Documento’’.

Ciircus Street @ciircus_street @lostinthemanor #music #promotion #onlyrockradio #tiorr1 #tiorrplaylist

With attitude-filled, perfectly harmonising vocals, Ciircus Street have been uniquely described in the past as a mixture of ‘salt and honey’. The contrasting, yet compatible nature of their voices gives the listener a taste of what’s yet to come from such raw potential.

The Reading based duo, consisting of Sam Brett (vocals/ guitar) and Jim Crowder (vocals/ keyboard), was formed one night in Oxford after walking past the city’s ‘Circus Street’. Both agreed it would make a good band name, but it wasn’t until later that night when they attended a gig and knocked back a few drinks, that the pair decided to form a duo.

Ciircus Street’s second single ‘Lost’ has been streamed over 70,000 times on Spotify and they continue their success with a third single release titled ‘Broken’.

‘Broken’ explores that period of fragility when one comes to terms with their pain, understanding that it’s for the best, yet still feeling a sense of vulnerability. Ciircus Street truly shed light on moving on from heartbreak and the mixture of feelings and emotions that come along with it. Sam & Jim list notable artists such as Lewis Capaldi and Kodaline as their inspirations when writing the track.

“Broken is written from the perspective of someone who has just gone through a rough breakup in a relationship they knew they had to end …they were hurt, and it’s taken time to fully understand their state of mind…but it was the right decision”- Jim Crowder (Ciircus Street)

"Carmela" By Resolve @krodrecords #music #promotion #onlyrockradio #tiorrplaylist #tiorr1

Carmela: a testimony to Resolve’s everlasting
drive to push further their creative horizon
Ever since the public reveal in February 2017 of Resolve’s debut single 'Exposed', the Lyon, France
based quartet has been eager to show their peer that they won’t settle for anything but greatness.
Their strong work ethic and attention to details allowed them to open shows for Architects, Every Time
I Die, While She Sleeps to name a few, all of that within the first few months of the band’s stammering
career.
The four boys spent the rest of their first year as a band touring their home country as well as Europe
and the UK, and unveiled music videos one after the other, fulfilling their initial plan of releasing a fully
watchable record.
Summer of 2018 saw the release of another EP, Stripped Down Session, offering a different take on
some of the songs from 'Reverie', as well as their own interpretation of the classic Foo Fighters song
'Best of You'. But this little acoustic venture was just a prelude to the imminent release of Resolve’s
new lead single, the melody-driven 'Carmela', a testimony to the band’s everlasting drive to push
further their creative horizon.

This new track is called ‘Carmela’ and was written after the passing of our vocalist’s grandmother,
Carmela Diliberto. More than a mourning song, the whole theme for it was the impact someone can
have on your life, the ‘passing of the torch’ and the fear of yourself not leaving any lasting trace on
your loved ones life.
‘When I’m gone, will someone miss me as much as I miss you?’
This is without a doubt the hardest we’ve ever worked on a single song, trying new things and aiming
for different horizons, as well as doing everything ourselves, from the mixing to the video-making.

"Afterlife" by Light Years @lightyearsoh @inceptionpress#music #promotion #tiorr1 #tiorrplaylist

Light Years Give You ‘Afterlife’:
Ohio Pop-Punks Unveil New Album Via Rude Records
30th November: In order to celebrate the impending
release of their latest album, Cleveland Quartet Light
Years yesterday unveiled single ‘Paradise’ here.
Frontman Pat Kennedy reveals: “It was the last song we
wrote for ‘Afterlife’, feeling like it could use one more
upbeat, faster song to round it out. It feels like an oldschool
pop-punk song to us, in the vein of Dookie or
Kerplunk. No extra bells and whistles, just catchy
melodies and straight forward riffs. I wrote it thinking
about all the music and things that inspired me to even
want to be in a band in the first place, and that it still
keeps me going today.” Album ‘Afterlife’ is out now,
having seen release today via Rude Records here, with
Kennedy enthusing: “We couldn’t be more proud and
excited to release this record. We have seen so many
ups and downs over the years that when we take a step
back and realize that we get to release a third fulllength
record is incredible. We are truly grateful to
anyone who has been following this band for so long
and hope they will enjoy this record as well.”

Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, Pop-Punk unit Light Years have weaved their way through the scene for almost a
decade. Formed by vocalist Pat Kennedy, he enlisted in Tommy Englert, Andrew Foerst and Kent Sliney to round out
the group in 2009. They have notched up tours with heavy-hitters like Neck Deep, State Champs, Modern Baseball,
Citizen and Turnover, alongside appearances on The Vans Warped Tour and So What?! Music Festival.
The new 11-track rager was recorded and produced by Will Yip (who also produced the band’s 2015 classic, ‘I’ll See
You When I See You’). In support of the release, the quartet unleashed a number of singles including videos for
‘Bottle Rocket’ here and lead single ‘Back Then’ here - a unique throwback video which features footage from the
band growing up, having been written about their first time on the road. Discussing how much ‘Afterlife’ means to
him, Kennedy reveals: “Afterlife is where Light Years has been heading for the past 8 years. We spent more time on
this record than anything we have done before and I think it shows. We tried new sounds and ideas that before we
would have never thought to do, or been willing to try, which I think only comes from the maturity you get from being
in a band for so many years.”

Tolbert Toz @tolberttoz #music #promotion #tiorrplaylist #tiorr1

TolbertToz BIO
From the world of 24 track reel to reel recordings, huge studios, leather and lace, CBGB’s and the Village Voice being a musician’s bible; it is a sheer juxtaposition that Joy Tolbert and Tim Toz met through the internet.
Finding each other by chance on Soundcloud and embracing the digitally streaming music that they individually made and uploaded, the pair soon realized that they could make music together even though they were 150 miles apart.
Joy heard one of Tim’s instrumental songs and wanted to put a melody and words to it. “Tim was okay with the idea, but I could tell that he wasn’t sure what might come out of this” said Joy.
When she sent the tune back to him with her ideas, he was happily surprised. Life Rolls By was the first song of many songs that they have collaborated on. For the first 6 months, the team had never met although they had written about 12 songs together.
“Working at a distance has its advantages and disadvantages”, says Joy. “Tim worked out the arrangements playing all the instruments and I recorded scratch vocals on my iPhone to work out the parts.” "Seems simple enough", Tim says, "but there's a good amount of volley back and forth to get to the final versions.”

The team knew that ultimately they would need to come together to record the real vocals. "I kept thinking I would just get some remote recording rig to take up to Joy's place. But the reality was I had a rig I could take now. So that's what we did.” said Tim.
The process seems to work well for the Joy and Tim. They keep churning out great songs. Although at the beginning, they yearned for a more organic approach to writing, the team soon realized that this crazy way that they are producing music is working just fine.
And so they continue as TolbertToz

Snew @snew #music #promotion #tiorrplaylist #tiorr1

SNEW to Hard Rockers release new album ‘You’ve Got Some Nerve’ on
September 17th, 2018
“You’ve Got Some Nerve”; a thrilling ride of high octane hard rock, that streams
from the heart and keeps the fist-pumping party vibe every step of the way.
SNEW are at the top of their game!
Sept. 2018 Los Angeles Ca: SNEW’s much anticipated fourth album is titled
“You’ve Got Some Nerve”. Recorded in the Hollywood Hills and produced by
Bobby Owsinski, engineered by Grammy winner J. J. Blair. This is perhaps
the bands most ambitious work to date. SNEW even includes a live horn section
on two tracks.
Vocalist Curtis Don Vito had this to say about their hit song: “UR Freaking Me
Out” sets the tone for our entire new album. It’s about stirring things up and
making things right. My uncle used to say “Do something. Even if it’s wrong, just
do it.” He may have been joking at the time but I took it to heart.
We’re living in strange times and strange times call for strange actions. There are
a lot of us out there that feel misunderstood. I say it’s high time we get out
there and BE misunderstood. We’re not hurting anybody. If we freak you out
then we freak you out. We can’t help it and you can’t stop us.
The album kicks off with the Ultra Catchy and Rocking “UR Freaking Me Out”
which sets the tone for an album that takes you through Arena Rock anthems
like “Holy Hell”, the pure Heavy Metal of “Acetylene Queen”, the Angst
Driven and Complex “Put Upon”, Catchy and Danceable “Sharpie” and the
Moody and Spaced out “Revolution is a Closed Loop”.
Nine tracks in all with a CD package that includes visually stunning
artwork.
The band is also set to appear at Hard Rock Hell this November in
Wales alongside Saxon, Michael Schenker Group, The Dead Daisies and
more!

Caught somewhere between the vocal prowess of Bon Scott and Ian Gillan
and boasting the solid 80s-inspired riffage of Motley Crue, California rockers
SNEW have spent the last decade making a lot of noise and a lot of friends.
Their debut album, "Snew You" was dubbed one of the top ten hard
rock albums of 2008 by Sleazeroxx.com, while their cover of “Highway
Star” featured legendary prog rock guitarist Allan Holdsworth.
And with every record the band seem to bring on bigger and better production
talent. On “Snew You” it was Bobby Owsinski (Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Elvis,
Ramones). For album number two, "We Do What We Want", they went with
Grammy Award winner, Ed Cherney (Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop and AC/DC) and
for their third album "What's It To Ya" they hooked up with Abbey Road
engineer, Ken Scott (The Beatles, David Bowie and Jeff Beck).
The band’s message is and always has been about inclusivity for all. A love for
their audience and community, regardless of where they’re from. To SNEW, rock
and roll is about bringing people together for a good time and a chance to
escape the grind. Their shows are a chance to sweat out inhibitions and stress.
The single greatest form of meditation there is. When asked about their ethos,
frontman Curtis Don Vito had this to say “We play rock and roll. We get together
and it sweats out of every orifice of us. Doesn’t matter if we’re in front of 12
people or 1,200. Every ounce of energy we have just pours out of us and our
message is simple; be who you are, do what you want. We don’t care who you
are, what you think or where you’re from. There’s always room for one more.”
The single "The Juice of Power" kicked off 2016 debuting at #5 on the iTunes
Rock Chart, before the band returned to Rocklahoma, one of the largest rock
festivals in the US, on Memorial Day weekend. This lead to the band featuring in
TV promos aired on the nationally televised TV show "That Metal Show". They
feature often on TV shows, films and national sports shows in the US, including
the NFL, MBL and NHL, supernatural thriller "Extraterrestrial" released
through IFC Films and heavily in the documentary series “Inside Metal: The
Pioneers of LA Hard Rock and Metal.
All of which leads to the release of their fourth and latest album, “You’ve Got
Some Nerve”; a thrilling ride of high octane hard rock, that streams from the
heart and keeps the fist-pumping party vibe every step of the way. From the
opening salvo of first single “UR Freaking Me Out”, to the blues driven, early
Whitesnake bite of “Revolution Is A Closed Loop”, through to the raucous selftitled
closer. Come in, get up and dance, because all are welcome.

"O.N.E." by The Ady Baker Sound @adybakersound #music #promotion #onlyrockradio #tiorrplaylist #tiorr1

New single from The Ady Baker Sound asks why people with power are f**king it up!

Reading, 15th November 2019 – Reading based band, The Ady Baker Sound, release their new single “O.N.E” (oh-en-ee). on Musical Bear ‘Records’ on 7th December, with a launch gig at the legendary After Dark Club in Reading on 8th December. The single will be distributed globally through all online platforms and a limited number of 7” singles will be available exclusively at their live shows.
"O.N.E." a song that has already been played by BBC Introducing, asks people to stop pavement gazing and look up and challenge those with power. It was recorded at Outhouse Studios and produced by John Mitchell, who has also produced the likes of Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Architects and Lower Than Atlantis amongst others.
The Ady Baker Sound are Jim Dorney (bass), Mark Summers (guitar), Leo Brown (drums) and Ady Baker (lyrics, vocals & samples). One of the more diverse artists to emerge in the last year, their sound is hard to pin down but has been described as ‘polyphonic psych rock with a big chorus’. The band create a mashed-up bumper car race of break-beats, seismic bass lines, glide guitar and machine-gun drum barrages, laced with laid back vocals and lyrical weaponry that channel Tim Burgess, Ride and Death In Vegas.
They’ve been developing their intense sets in venues around the south east with successful supports slots with Dodgy and Jesus Jones. The Ady Baker Sound have gained recognition for their passionate live shows and are set to embark on a mini UK tour in the new year prior to going into the studio to record their debut album in 2019.

London Down @londondownmusic #music #promotion #tiorr1 #tiorrpalylist #onlyrockradio

“Sense of wonder nearing the end. Lonesome world, nowhere to begin” -- (“Inside of You” by London Down)

Kids, careers, marriage, the deaths of loved ones -- the founding members London Down have experienced 30 years of life’s ups and downs since they last made music together as wide-eyed 20-somethings in San Jose, California.

But the chemistry that propelled this quartet to the upper ranks of the San Francisco Bay Area’s college rock scene of the late 1980s remains unchanged.

No one knew that when the band decided to reunite this past August in Nashville.

After reconnecting through social media over the past few years, the band members talked about reuniting for a one-off show in 2017 to mark the 30th anniversary of their indie album “Strange Places Unknown.” With two members now living in North Carolina and two still in California, they couldn’t make a reunion work.

So they recorded a single long distance, releasing “Carnival” on digital sites in August 2018.

The experience went so well it convinced founding members Chris Carbone, Phil Benjamin and Steve Hartsoe to meet at a mutual friend’s house in Nashville and record an entire album.

With Steve's son Eli replacing his uncle Ken on drums due to the original drummer's unavailability, they met up in Music City for a week in August 2018.

They rehearsed a dozen songs over six hours then recorded them in three days.

“It was like we never quit playing together,” says lead guitarist Phil Benjamin. “We looked at each other from across the room at SIR Rehearsal Studios in Nashville and thought, ‘What just happened?’”

The result of that whirlwind week is “Gnashville,” a 13-song indie album being released Dec. 7 on CD and on digital download sites. Leading up to the release, the band has launched a nationwide college radio campaign and released two singles (“Carnival” on Aug. 3 and “Burning Bridges” on Oct. 26).

On “Gnashville,” the garage-band grit, the sweet, jangly electric folk and the punchy rock grooves remain unchanged from their busy club days when Bush One was president and R.E.M. ruled the airwaves. What has changed, along with some new gray hair, is a depth the band could never have had when playing the Bay Area club circuit and opening for artists including Chris Isaak, Mudhoney and The Tragically Hip.

Threading the 13 tracks on “Gnashville” is the vantage point of a life more than half lived -- a depth of conscience that touches on social discord (“Burning Bridges”), smartphone addiction (“Disease”), the West Coast housing crisis (“You Got Yours”) and the school shooting in Parkland, Florida (“Molly”).

“Childlike wonder lost in thunder, Molly’s on the run/Synapse missing no one’s listening, here we go again,” sings guitarist/lead singer Steve Hartsoe in “Molly,” which closes the album.

“I laugh more around these guys than I do in any other environment,” Steve Hartsoe says. “But I think we share a similar view about things going on around us and in the world, and so much of it is not very pleasant. That comes out in the songs.”

That’s not to say London Down is, well, all downer. In “Every Gig,” the band turns a Motown beat into a garage-band rager about the unstable yet raucous joy of life in an indie band -- most of it straight out of the band’s scrapbook.

“Van broke down in Salinas town one more Econoline for the heap/B.D.’s working college radio from a boat somewhere at sea.” Then comes the chorus that forces the listener to forget the verses about broken bathroom lights, drunk soundmen and crappy stages: “Plug me in and count it off/Gonna do what we do till we die/ It’s the indie life.”

Luke Bryan pedal steel/guitarist Dave Ristrim, a childhood friend of Benjamin and Carbone, produced the album. He also added pedal steel, 12-string electric guitar and baritone guitar on “Gnashville.” Fellow Luke Bryan bandmate, bassist James “Cap’n” Cook, recorded, mixed and mastered the album at his home studio, Studio on the Ridge in Nashville. Cook also handles harmony duties on the album.

“We had not seen each other in more than 20 years, but sharing song ideas and making this album feels like we never stopped,” says Carbone. “The chemistry is still there, and the new songs sound better than we could have imagined. This whole experience has been really special. We look forward to continuing even beyond ‘Gnashville.’”
